Artbooking Fun!

For all Cricut owners!  Have you had a chance to look at the 3 Cricut cartridges that Close to My Heart has to offer?  Artbooking is the third one released following Art Philosophy and Artiste.  Artbooking gives you coordinated cuts to create scrapbook pages and mini books.  Many of the images can be resized to create beautiful cards. And soon, we will have Artfully Sent, a cartridge geared towards card making.
Here is a layout done with the Artbooking cartridge. As you can see, I am still working on my children's scrapbooks.  The quality of these pictures from so long ago was really poor, so I converted them to black and white and improved the contrast.  This technique makes pictures you may think unusable work quite well on your scrapbook page.

For information on any of the cartridges from Close to My Heart, contact me or visit my website www.suebruch.ctmh.com.

Loving Timberline!

Do  your summer vacation plans include trips to the mountains or maybe the  North Woods?  Do you have sons or grandsons in Scouting?  Or maybe your weekend plans include hiking in Starved Rock or any of the other great parks Illinois has to offer.  Close to My Heart's Timberline paper Packet, Complements and coordinating stamps are perfect for scrapbooking any of these events.

Here is a layout that I created with the Timberline Workshop on the Go. It is just waiting for pictures from our trip to Glacier, Banff and Jasper that we have planned for this summer.  I love the stamps that come with this workshop and the little wooden embellishments are so cute.

The Workshops on the Go are a great bargain.  For instance, this Workshop has a value of $42.12 and sells for $29.95. In addition to the paper packet, there is a detailed Instructional Brochure and always one or two full packages of embellishments.

As with all the current paper packets, this design is only available through July 31st.  Out new annual Idea Book will come out then and none of the paper packets will carry over.

Happy Scrapping and Stamping!
Sue

Just one to love!

Other than the White Daisy cardstock, Silver Shimmer Trim and the white baker's twine, this card was made with retired product, but it turned out so cute and I want to share it with you.  The stamp set was the December 2013 Stamp of the Month. Using the card shown with the SOTM in the idea book as inspiration, I used the Handle with Care stamp to stamp a background, creating my own patterned paper. The embellishment was cut with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and then stamped.

This card is for my newest grandchild, Isla (eye-la) Carolynn.  What a sweetheart she is!

So here's a challenge.  Take a look at your stamps and find one or more that will create a wonderful background for your card or your layout.  It can be understated as this one or bright and bold, depending on the look you want.  It's all up to you!

Throwback Thursday Layout

Today I shared a picture of a layout for my Throwback Thursday post on Facebook and decided it would be fun to share it here on my blog.  The layout itself is a throwback...I did it several years ago.  Looking at it, however, I think it still looks fresh and current.  It is definitely my signature style which I guess you would call "Linear", but sometimes borders on OCD!
A couple techniques I used:  I went to the sewing machine and stitched around some of the main pieces.  I also scanned the list of graduates from the program, reduced it in size and added it to the layout as an embellishment.  The fact that it sits at an angle is a complete departure from my ordinary style!  LOL!  The "PC" was fussy cut from the patterned paper.  I'm glad I now have a cutting machine to do that for me
I hope you have enjoyed taking a look at this layout from the past.
