Super Heros!

So who is your Super Hero?  This week at Heart 2 Heart Challenges, we are giving you a chance to celebrate that person with a card, layout, or other project.  I have a grandson with a birthday coming up, so I created a card for him.

Design credit to Close to My Heart

The supplies for this card are from Close to My Heart. The patterned papers are from the Stargazer packet.  I also used Cranberry and retired Honey cardstock.  The very cute "Super Hero" is a print and cut from Cricut Design Space and the title was a cut from the Artiste cartridge. The stars are retired CTMH.

It is time for a little self criticism. Now that the card is all done, I wish I had used one of our abstract paint splatter type stamps with some Mink or second generations Heather to add some interest to the background...it just looks too white!  However, the card is cute and will show our grandson just how special he is.

I hope you be inspired by this and the other projects at Heart 2 Heart to create a salute to your own Super Hero!

Sue

Color your World!

Every once in awhile the Heart 2 Heart Design Team gives you a color challenge.  This time it is to create a project using Peacock, Bashful, Blossom and White Daisy.  I decided on this card and was inspired by Pattern 15 in Make it from your Heart, Vol. 4.

Using the Gimme Some Sugar Scrapbooking stamp set (D1758), the flowers were stamped with Bashful and Blossom and the leaves and flower centers were stamped with Peacock.  They were all fussy cut and the top rose was bumped up with Thin 3-D Foam Tape.  The card was embellished with White Shimmer Tape and Bitty Sparkles.  I rather like the results...what do you think?

Out of this World!

The Stargazer paper packet and Complements are perfect for creating cards and layouts for your favorite little boys.  Here is my card I created for this week's Heart 2 Heart Challenge, "Out of this World".  I was inspired by Pattern 12 in Make it from your Heart, Vol. 4 from CTMH.

I took the quick and easy route (and there is nothing wrong with that) by using one of the images from the Complements pack.  There are also stamp sets that you can personalize with your favorite media and colors.  The embellishments are Stargazer Dots.  These primary color dots can be used in so many ways!  This product line is in the Seasonal Expressions Catalog which will be retiring on April 30th.  Click here to take a look.

I hope you enjoy this card.  For more "Out of this World" inspiration please visit Heart 2 Heart Challenges Out of this World.  We will love it if you use at least one CTMH product to create your project and then use the Linky tool to share what you have done. You have until the end of the month!

Happy crafting,
Sue

Green!

It is almost time for the "Wearing of the Green"  and Heart 2 Heart is challenging you to use your favorite shades of green in creating a card, layout or other paper project.  I was inspired by a sketch from Page Maps that I found in an older magazine.  I used papers from the Chelsea Gardens (you know I love it) paper packet.  The leaves were colored in with a water brush and CTMH ink pads and the butterfly is colored with the Bashful Shimmer Pen. The scalloped circle and the butterfly are bumped up with Thin 3D Foam Tape. The scalloped border was cut with a Thin Cut (on sale this month!), while the circles were cut on the Cricut.

This card is a bit of a deviation from my norm.  I tend to be more of a minimalist when I create cards...sometimes calling it being clean and classy.  Well, this one has layers upon layers of paper and embellishments...I probably should have created it for our "kitchen sink" challenge!  However, even though it is "fussy", I find that the limited palette and the continuity of the patterned paper gives it a rather "clean" appearance.  Just my thoughts!

Have a happy St. Pat's Day...behave yourself!

Everything but the Kitchen Sink!

What a fun theme for this week's Heart 2 Heart Challenge.  I chose to use the super cute Gimme Some Sugar packet to create my card.  Not having any of the stamps that go with the set (didn't think I wanted them, but I might be close to caving!), I used one of the Picture My Life cards for my sentiment.

I matted my patterned paper with Heather cardstock.  The PML card was diecut with a die in my tool arsenal.  I took a second card and trimmed out the rolling pin and layered it with Thin 3-D Foam Tape.  The cute little flowers are Gimme Some Sugar Cork Shapes.  This was a really fun and easy card to put together.  Enjoy!

Love is in the Air!

Maybe this post is a little late for Valentine's Day, but the holiday is the first thing I thought of when I saw the theme for this week's Heart 2 Heart Challenge...True Love. This card is for my husband, so I tried to give it a masculine feel.

To create this Valentine card, I used Pattern 7 from Make it From Your Heart, Vol. 4, the newest instruction book from Close To My Heart.  It is dedicated to card sketches and artwork.  So anyhow, back to Pattern 7.  It is shown as a vertically oriented design, but I flipped it on its side to accommodate the embossing folder (Wood Slats--retired) and the Thin Cuts hearts. The patterned paper is from the Stargazer packet, the cardstocks are White Daisy and Pebble and the ribbon is the new Light Grey.

As I said, this is kind of late to be of inspiration for this Valentine's Day, so how about using your imagination...use a different sentiment that goes well with the heart, or switch the image completely...circles, stars?  Maybe a shamrock for St. Pat's Day

For more True Love inspiration, please visit Heart 2 Heart Challenges--Love is in the Air.  I am sure you will truly love (pardon the pun!) what you see. And we will truly love it if you take the time to link your project that reflects what you love!

Fine & Dandy!

The challenge for this week at Heart 2 Heart is literally Fine & Dandy. I had fun creating this layout celebrating my granddaughter's team win at the Conference Tourney.

This layout was entirely created with Close to My Heart products.  The layout inspiration comes from the left hand page of Pattern 22 in the Make it from your Heart Vol 3. I used patterned paper from the Stargazer paper packet as well as the retired Cats and Bats pack. I also used Black, Pebble, Poppy and retired Honey cardstock.  The Poppy enamel dots are from the Stargazer Dots set.  The title was stamped with a stamp from the Gimme Some Sugar--Scrapbooking set D1758.  One fun thing on this layout...I took a screen shot of a Tweet from our school principal and used it as a picture/journaling element...it kind of tells the whole story!

Stargazer and Gimme Some Sugar are two of the paper suites in the Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book.  If you have not yet had a chance to see the wonderfulness of this book, I invite you to visit my website, click on Products and then Idea Books.

For more  ideas be sure to visit Heart 2 Heart Challenges.  While you are there, I invite you to link your project.  We will love being inspired by what you find Fine & Dandy!  We ask only that you use at least one Close to My Heart product.
