Happy Wedding!

The first of our great nephews and nieces will be married this weekend and we are honored to be invited!  So, needing a card for the bride and groom, I decided to use the colors in the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge to make my creation.

The background is two different patterned papers from the Whimsey Fundamental paper packet.  The sentiment box is White Daisy, matted with Glacier. The stamping is done with Glacier, Juniper, Thistle and Canary inks. The stamp is Happy to be Friends.  Silver Foil Tape and silver Sugar Rush Dots add the bling.

Celebrating Ribbon!

Hello!  It is Team Ruby's turn again at Heart 2 Heart Challenges and this week we are Celebrating Ribbon!  For my ribbon choices, I selected the Blue Burlap Ribbon (Z3325) and the White Burlap Ribbon (Z3323) along with the Red Shimmer Trim (Z1848).  While Shimmer Trim is not technically a ribbon, it can certainly be used it its place. The burlap ribbons are new in the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog and will be available through the end of August.

I used my die cutter and the largest of the Star Dies (Z3261) to cut the star from a 4 x 5 1/4 inch piece of White Daisy.  I applied adhesive to my card base and then applied the ribbon and Shimmer Trim at a 45 Degree angle.  I used the Thin 3-D Foam tape to adhere the top piece to the card base.  Liquid Glass was used to adhere the die cut. The stamping was done with an old stamp set called Kaboom  in Cranberry and Sapphire ink.  Silver sequins finished it off.

This is a design that came to me at some odd moment...I really like how it turned out.  I hope you like it too.

Double the Fun!

I created this card to submit to both the Color My Heart Color Dare and the Atlantic Sketch Challenges. I really like the color combination of Raspberry, Blossom, Lagoon, White Daisy, Black and Silver.  The paneled layout was easy to execute using the three main colors.  The flower and leaf were stamped with the Live Beautifully stamp set and Raspberry and Lagoon inks. Silver Shimmer Trim and a little bit of Silver Stickles provide the bling.

Coming up Roses

The challenge at Heart 2 Heart Challenges this week is to create a project using roses or whatever your favorite flower may be.  I chose to use the lovely Live Beautifully  paper packet.  This limited collection is available until the end of May (or until supplies are depleted).  In addition to the paper packet, there are other related products...album bundles, a Cut Above Layout Kit and a stamp set that I have used on this card.  The Live Beautifully collection celebrates the National Scrapbooking Month.

Paper:  Live Beautifully paper packet, White Daisy and Whisper cardstock
Stamps:  Live Beautifully Stamp Set and Happy to Be Friends Stamp Set
Inks:  Eggplant, New England Ivy and Slate.
Other:  White Shimmer Trim from CTMH, Stitched rectangle die from Lawn Fawn and Platinum Stickles from Ranger.

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge (literally)!

OK, I was really stumped with this challenge.  I could not figure out how to take these colors and create a project that was balanced and pleasing to the eye.  After several trips through my CTMH catalogs and more than a little Pinterest browsing, I finally decided on a design. I used the pattern for one of the cards in the Jack Cardmaking Workshops Your Way from the CTMH Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog.

Here are the colors assigned in the challenge:

While most colors are apparent, you may have to search for the Tangerine.  It, along with Blossom, is one of the colors in the lightest banner.  The White and Gold Twine fills the gold requirement.

The papers shown are from various paper packs, some new and some old.  Feel free to contact me for more information.  To see more inspiring projects using these colors, please visit:
